PIHEC welcomes and encourages members with a broad spectrum of views among its members. While welcoming many, we do so with an ideology of inclusion and integration. We work for all members to join us in enabling, establishing, enhancing, maintaining, and/or defending highly valued social roles for students accessing Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) by using, as much as possible, culturally valued means.

Mission:

The Pennsylvania Inclusive Higher Education Consortium (PIHEC) creates fully inclusive opportunities for students who have historically not had access to postsecondary educational opportunities. The Consortium provides consultation and technical assistance for diverse communities to sustain institutions of higher education (IHE) in developing accessible inclusive higher education opportunities for young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Vision:

To design and support postsecondary campus settings in which education, authentic social experiences, independent living, and integrated and competitive employment can be accessed by young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within inclusive and supportive environments.
