Time is running out to register for the 10th Annual PIHEC Symposium: “Building Doors to Opportunity”
Due to multiple requests and in an effort to make the Annual Symposium accessible to everyone who wished to participate but could not attend in person, we have made the decision to move the PIHEC 10th Annual Symposium to a fully online format.
Join us virtually on April 10 as we celebrate a decade of promoting and supporting inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) and expanding opportunities for students. Inspired by Milton Berle’s quote, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door,” this milestone event will showcase the transformative power of partnerships, employment, global learning, and entrepreneurship in shaping inclusive futures.
Event Highlights:
- Keynote Address: Partnerships to Build Doors to Opportunity with Tarik Khan Tarik Khan represents Pennsylvania’s 194th Legislative District in Philadelphia. Rep. Khan earned his Ph.D. from The University of Pennsylvania in May 2023, and is the former President of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association. He is a supporter of Temple University’s Institute on Disabilities and a tireless advocate for people with intellectual disability.
- Workshops & Panels: Competitive Integrated Employment, International Travel and Study Away, Outdoor Learning Experiences, and Entrepreneurship
- Student Voices: Hear firsthand from students who have built and are building and walking through doors to opportunity
